William David Walker

William David Walker, Jr., age 75, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on July 2, 2026. Born on July 4, 1950, in Crafton, Pennsylvania, Bill's life was a testament to faith, family, and service. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1973 to 1977. Rising to the rank of E5 Buck Sergeant, he worked as a Radio Communications Analysis Specialist at Fort Meade, Maryland, and Okinawa, Japan. Following his Honorable Discharge, he went to work as a Contract Officer with multiple tech companies.  For over 25 years, his career reflected his commitment to excellence

However, it was his love for the Lord Jesus that truly defined him. A man of deep faith and conviction, Bill was one of the founding families of Christ Church at Grove Farm and an active participant in the Salvation Army church service in Bethel Park, PA. He found immense joy in leading Bible studies and inspiring family, friends, and random strangers he ran into anywhere, like his local Giant Eagle. His love for God and for people impacted lives. As a gifted public speaker with a passion for politics, he engaged deeply with the world around him. Nobody that ever heard him recite a monologue or preach a sermon could walk away the same. He also loved reading and often shared inspiring books with others. The bottom line is he lived for people—his family, friends, and even strangers who quickly became part of his extended circle. His home was a frequent and welcome retreat where everyone felt refreshed by his boundless kindness and generosity.

Bill’s life was filled with laughter—a gift he shared generously with everyone he met. In quoting lines from Bill Murray movies or reenacting Jack Nicholson's iconic courtroom scene from A Few Good Men, he had a unique ability to bring life and joy to others. He loved the Pittsburgh sports teams and found great pleasure in discussing their ups and downs with family, friends or anyone else he might run across. His greatest legacy lies in how he made others feel seen, valued, and loved. Whether attending sporting events or performances for his children and grandchildren or connecting with someone overlooked by others, he had an extraordinary ability to make people feel special. His deepest concerns were never for himself, but for others.

Bill shared 40 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Linda Walker. He is survived by his children: Shawn Douglas Walker (wife Carol) with grandchildren Hannah, Nathan, and Caleb; son Timothy James Walker with grandchildren Alexa and Logan; daughter Kristen Marie (Walker) Hackinson (husband John Hackinson) with grandson Jay Hackinson (wife Claire) and great-grandchildren Kaydence and Chloe, grandson Tyler Hackinson (wife Nicole) and granddaughters Alaina and Amelia, granddaughter Morgan Hackinson, grandson Tristan Hackinson, grandson Caden Hackinson, and granddaughter Megan Hackinson; daughter Caitlin Clara Walker; and son Jared Matthew Walker (wife Katelyn). Bill’s siblings Stewart Walker (wife Carol), Jeffrey Walker (wife Karen), Kathie (Walker) Mariana (husband Barry Mariana), and Michael Walker (wife Diane) and their families also mourn his passing.

He was predeceased by his father William David Walker Sr., mother Elsie Mae (Stewart) Walker, step-son Jeffrey Banderinko, and grandson Kainen Walker.

A man of unwavering faith and immense heart, William David Walker Jr.’s memory will forever be cherished by those who knew him. May his life continue to inspire love, compassion, and service in all who were touched by his gifts.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 9th, at 1:00 pm at Christ Church at Grove Farm, 249 Duff Road, Sewickley, PA 15143.
