Virginia Volinsky Obituary

Virginia “Ginger” Carol (Wetmiller) Volinsky, age 72, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on June 19, 2023. She was born on August 16, 1950, to the late Bertram Stewart and Doris Jean (Van Horn) Wetmiller Jr.

Ginger was preceded by death by her siblings Bertram Stewart and Lawrence (Linda) Wetmiller.

Ginger was known for her gift of hospitality. Family get-togethers for holidays and any occasion delighted her. Ginger found joy in baking and cooking. Her nut cups and wedding soup were family favorites. She especially enjoyed playing games and spending time with her family and friends. Through her nurturing spirit she was a comfort to others. Ginger was the heart of our family.

She is survived by her husband James Volinsky and her children James (Amy) Volinsky Jr., Pamela (Scott) Beene, Doug (late Erica) Volinsky; her siblings Kay (late Bill) Yot, Patricia (late Leo) Redlinger, Joan (Dominick) Mussomeli, Barbara (late Pete) Wilson, Linda (Dennis) Kingston, Michael (Donna) Wetmiller, Audrey (Richard) Schroder, Marianne (Ken) Maloney, Beverly (late Shawn) Kuhn, and Richard (Renee) Wetmiller.

Ginger was the proud and loving grandmother of Mary, Brooke, Jake, and Jack Volinsky and Caleb and Lorelai Beene. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and close friends.

Arrangements were entrusted to Ball Funeral Chapel Inc., Pittsburgh, PA.
