Thomas Borne Sr. Obituary

Thomas Borne Sr., a devoted family man, cherished friend, and lifelong resident of the Pittsburgh area, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026.

Tom’s greatest legacy is his family, and his love and kindness will be carried on by his surviving children and their spouses: Katrina Burkhard and her husband Kenneth, Thomas Borne Jr. and his wife Valerie, and Anthony Borne and his wife Ashley. He was the immensely proud grandfather of Thomas Borne III, Christian Borne, Joshua Czerwinski, Hayden Czerwinski, Isabella Burkhard, Sandra Justus, Lucas Borne, and Charlotte Borne. Tom is also survived by his dear sisters, Barbra Tuskey and Cheryl Beattie, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, and lifelong friends. He was reunited in peace with his beloved wife, Sandra Borne, his cherished daughter, Angel Borne, his loving parents, Anthony and Helen Borne, and his dear niece, Randi McCullough.

Tom’s life story began with a beautiful, enduring love. At just 18 years old, he met the love of his life, Sandra, when they were next-door neighbors. After taking her as his high school prom date, they built a beautiful life together that spanned 55 remarkable years of marriage.

A proud 1964 graduate of Carrick High School, Tom possessed a lifelong curiosity for the world around him and famously always wanted to be a weatherman. While he may not have tracked the storms on television, he brought warmth and sunshine to everyone he met during his distinguished 20-year career as an electrical supplies salesman for CED Mosebach. To this day, Tom is remembered by colleagues and clients alike as a truly great guy who would go out of his way to help absolutely anybody.

Tom lived life with a joyful spirit and an unforgettable sense of humor. No matter the time, the place, or the circumstance, there was always a quick joke to be made and a smile to be shared. He found immense happiness in the simple pleasures of life: listening to music, cultivating his garden, especially his beloved tomato plants, and vacationing with family at the beach. Tom was also a passionate dog lover who shared a particularly deep, unforgettable bond with his loyal dog, Faith.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life for Tom on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 12:00 PM at DeBlasio's Italian Restaurant, located at 1717 Cochran Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15220.
