SUSAN MENZER FOX Born on May 21, 1956, in Pittsburgh, PA. She moved to southern New Jersey in 1976, where she lived until returning to Pittsburgh in 1998.
Susan was a devoted Christian whose faith shaped her compassion, generosity, and lifelong commitment to serving others. She was a devoted mother, sister, friend, nurse, and advocate who found deep purpose in helping those in need. Throughout her career as a nurse, Susan cared for others with empathy and dedication, a reflection of the faith and kindness that guided her life. She spent her life championing families raising children with special needs. After the birth of her son, Matthew, Susan was instrumental in the creation of a nonprofit organization in southern New Jersey that brought together families of individuals with Down syndrome for support, community events, and connection, a cause she cared deeply about throughout her life.
Susan's greatest joy was found in her family and community. She is survived by her children, Joseph, Michael, and Matthew; her grandchildren, Nicholas, Joseph, and Wyatt; and her siblings, Marcia Ashenden, Diane Payne (the late Frank), Edward Menzer, Joann Menzer (Don Boliver), Thomas Menzer (Sophie), and Michael Menzer (Vicki).
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward "Red" Menzer; her mother, Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Menzer; and her brother, James "Jimmy" Menzer (Gwen surviving). Susan is also survived by 22 nieces, nephews, and great-nieces, and great-nephews.
