Susan M. (Kunkel) Borner

Susan “Sue” Borner, age 66, of Hampton Township passed away peacefully on January 19, 2022, after a brief but courageous battle with neuroendocrine cancer. Sue found joy in family, friends, and her dogs. During the summertime, she enjoyed weekends at Conneaut Lake boating, being out in the sun, garage sailing, and visiting with friends & family. For 35 years, Sue was recognized as an accomplished chemist, developing and improving products. Sue is survived by her husband of 37 years, Thomas Borner, daughter Jaime Borner, stepdaughters Jennifer Lewis (Alan) and Amy Riechman (Steve), brothers Frank Kunkel (Carol), and Thomas Kunkel (Valerie); grandchildren Travis, Collin, Olivia, Andrew, and Ethan; and great grandson Aiden. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews. Sue is preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Dorothy Kunkel, brother Herbert Kunkel, nephew Jason Kraus, and grandson Ian Handyside. A celebration of life will be held in her honor at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made online to the Neuroendocrine Cancer Awareness Network.
