Sandra Lee Kostial

Sandra Lee (Rembold) Kostial, 83, of Hopewell Township, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born in Oil City, Pennsylvania, on May 28, 1942, and is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Pauline (Carnes) Rembold, and brothers Gary and Terry.

Sandy is survived by Joseph F. Kostial, her loving husband of nearly 63 years, siblings Carol Fisher, Jim Rembold, and Lynn Rembold. Sandy and Joe have four children, Brenda Kostial, Chris Giannascoli (Dan), Joe Kostial (Kim), and Bill Kostial (Rachelle); eight grandchildren, Christopher Ungarean (Erin), Chad Ungarean (Irene), Carly Baxter (Alex), Nicholas Giannascoli (Alyssa), Mena Kostial, Will Kostial (Erin), Logan Kostial, and Madi Kostial; and one great-grandchild, Ariana Ungarean.

Sandy’s long-time dear and faithful friend, Martha Seech, who continued to lovingly visit her weekly throughout these last difficult years, held a very special place in Sandy’s heart.

Sandy embraced her life as a wife, mother, and homemaker, and through her interests in quilting, antiquing, gardening, and baking created a warm and loving home for her family. As a member of Hopewell Quilters, she enthusiastically shared her expertise with others.

Sandy’s husband Joe showed his unwavering devotion in the way he lovingly cared for her, keeping her at home throughout her illness, honoring her and their life together. Sandy's family and friends were touched by his selfless love, faithfulness, and strength.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Sandy's special caregiver, Carletta, and the Good Samaritan Hospice nurses, especially Jenn, Jessica, and Nicole, who so lovingly cared for both Sandy and Joe during this journey.

The family will honor Sandy's life privately; no services will be held. Friends are invited to honor Sandy's memory by donating to Good Samaritan Hospice.
