Sally Giebel Obituary

Sally Louise Giebel, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering strength. She was a woman whose life was defined by quiet sacrifice, steady devotion, and a deep, enduring faith in God.

Sally was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Terry Camardese; her sisters, Betty Jane Suess (Kenny) and Marjorie Guyer Blake; and her dear parents, Arthur Guyer and Josephine Susanna Bender Guyer. Though her passing brings sorrow, she is now reunited with those she held close to her heart.

She is lovingly survived by her brother, Bob Guyer (Trenace); her daughter, Shirley Skidmore (Steve); and her son, Joel Giebel (Lee Anne). She is also lovingly remembered by her son-in-law, John Camardese and cousin Barbara Joseph (and the late Fuzzer). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Neil Camardese (Julie), Kadi Parrott (Andrew), James Camardese, Mitchell Skidmore, and Jennifer Skidmore. Sally also had the great joy of seeing her family grow another generation with her three great-grandsons: Levi Parrott, Andrew Jacob Parrott, and Vince Camardese.

Sally was, above all, a woman of deep and steady faith. Her life was rooted in her walk with God, and she lived that faith through tireless service to others. Her home was a haven—always open to family and friends for a cup of coffee, a meal, or a longer-term stay. She welcomed others not just with open arms, but with a heart full of grace.

Professionally, Sally served as a nurse for over 20 years—a career that reflected her compassion, grit, and unshakable commitment to caring for others. She took pride in her home, her independence, and the simple joys of life. In retirement, she found peace in planting colorful flowers, a love for watching birds from her porch swing, and great joy in cooking meals for the people she loved.

Sally was the pillar of her family: the example, the encourager, the constant. Her wisdom was quiet but steady, and her presence brought a sense of home that can never be replaced. Those who knew her carry with them not only memories, but lessons in kindness, resilience, and unconditional love.

She will be dearly missed, but her legacy lives on in the lives she shaped—and in the many hearts she touched.

Please join us in celebrating her life on Friday, August 1, 2025

Proverbs 31:25–26, 28

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.

She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

Her children arise and call her blessed.”
