Ronald J. Knight, age 86, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025. Ron was a beloved husband, father, grandfather “Papa”, brother and friend to many.
Ronald served Honorably in the US Air Force, both actively and as a reservist at the 911th Air force Base in Moon Twp. After getting married in 1958 Ron and Marlene eventually settled in Dormont to raise their family.
Ron worked for the U.S. Postal Service for over 40 years before he retired. Rons legacy is one of hard work and dedication to his family.
Preceded in death by his son Scott. Ron is survived by his wife Marlene (Flynn); his son Michael (Blake), his daughter Dawn (Paul) ; his grandchildren and 5 adopted children, Nicole, Amanda (Mikey), Cassandra (Marc), Michelle (Paul), Daniel (Lauren), Kayla, Kara, Morgan (Paul), Michael (Zoya), RJ, Rachel, Melissa, Kinsley and Kolesyn; many great grandchildren , brother, sisters, nieces and nephews.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Rons life will be held at Ball Funeral Chapel, Inc. 600 Dunster St. Pittsburgh PA 15226 on Thursday April 3, 2025 from 4pm until the 7pm service. Internment at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, with Honors at 1:30pm on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity or cause in his memory.
Ronalds spirit will live on in the hearts of his loved ones forever.
