Robert Francis Wessol

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert F. Wessol, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us peacefully after a long battle with cancer. Robert was a kind-hearted soul whose infectious laughter and zest for life drew people to him. He had a unique ability to light up a room, and his warmth and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Robert began his career as a foreign car mechanic, where his passion for automobiles flourished. He later transitioned to a fulfilling role at the Port Authority, dedicating many years of hard work before enjoying a well-deserved retirement. His love for classic and muscle cars was only rivaled by his passion for motorcycles, a shared joy that he cherished with his daughter, Tara.

As a father, Robert was nothing short of amazing. He poured his heart into raising his only daughter, Tara Coddington, instilling in her the values of hard work, kindness, and a love for adventure. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Dalton (Dakota) Coddington, Joshua Coddington, and Cheyenne Coddington, who will carry forward the spirit of their grandfather in their lives.

Robert is survived by his loving fiancé, Christina Tomko, and his brothers, Allen Wessol and Danny (Rikkie) Wessol, as well as his sister-in-law, Patricia Wessol, and a host of nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harriet and Frank Wessol, and his brothers, Francis and Barry Wessol, along with sister-in-law Connie Wessol.

In accordance with Robert’s wishes, there will be no formal service. Instead, we invite all who knew him to celebrate his life in their own way, remembering the joy he brought to our lives and the love he shared with his family and friends.

Robert F. Wessol will forever remain in our hearts, a shining example of kindness, laughter, and the importance of family. May he rest in peace.
