Robert ‘Robbie’ John Simko Jr., of Monongahela, passed away peacefully at UPMC Shadyside on Saturday, April 25th, 2026 surrounded by loved ones after a valiant battle with cancer. He was 63 years old.
Born in Orlando, Florida on January 19th, 1963, Robbie was the son of Francis Helen Newell Simko Culbertson Needham and the late Robert John Simko Sr. Robbie served in the United States Air Force as a mechanic and throughout his life continued working as a mechanic and became a skilled contractor. Robbie was known as the man who could build a house alone and fix anything from a car to a broken heart. He was truly a helping soul who many turned to for advice and left feeling better. Robbie was also known to be a jokester and quick witted, leaving many laughing with his antics.
In his free time, he was an avid artist, often painting model airplanes and cars, or drawing in sketchbooks. Robbie loved to play video games, watch movies, and spend time outdoors, often fishing, riding motorcycles, or working on cars and homes. Robbie was also a huge fan of all types of music and enjoyed attending concerts when he could.
Robbie is preceded in death by his father Robert ‘Bob’ Simko Sr and stepfather Robert ‘Culbie’ Culbertson. He is survived by his mother Francis Needham (Tom), stepmother Joan Simko, his sisters Susan Simko (Ron), Nicole Tucci (Scott), Gina McDermott (Brian), daughters Jordan Simko (Will) and Stephanie Simko (Robert), granddaughter Iris, his partner Kimberly Brant, along with nieces Karlee Yelinek (Tyler), Danielle Tucci, Mia McDermott, Madison McDermott, and Nephew Will Simko (Atessa) as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces and nephews, and friends
