Robert Leroy Runkle

 Robert “Bob” Runkle, also lovingly known as “Bobby” by his sister, passed away on March 4, 2025. Born in York County, he later made his home in West Newton, PA. 

A proud Army veteran and a skilled electrician, Bob was a hardworking man who valued family, adventure, and the simple joys in life. Bob had a deep love for fishing—whether on a boat or sitting by the shore, he was always happiest with a fishing pole in his hand. He cherished spending time with his family, especially at reunions in Altoona, PA, where he could catch up with loved ones and enjoy their company. In his younger years, he also had a passion for riding motorcycles, embracing the thrill of the open road. 

 Bob is survived by his loving girlfriend, Joyce Ernst; his children, Hunter Runkle and his wife Meghan, along with their daughters Adilee and Kiarra Sundberg; Rebecca Runkle and her son Jase Jackson; Malissa Runkle; Chrissy Runkle; Josh Runkle; Bill Runkle; and Nikki Runkle. He is also survived by his sister, Malissa Hilliard, and her husband John, along with their sons Shannon and Shawn Hilliard; his brother, William Runkle; and his father Norman Runkle. Bob was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Heather Miller, and his mother, Gloria Runkle

 His legacy of love, laughter, and the peaceful moments spent by the water will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
