Robert “Bob” Anthony Maloney Jr., beloved husband, father, Pappy, and brother, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024, in his home with his wife Marsha by his side
Son of the late Robert Anthony Maloney Sr. & Rita Marie Larkin Maloney, he grew up in the Pittsburgh area with his five siblings: Maureen (William P.) Costello, Kathleen (David M.) Simmons, Seamus (Marita) Maloney, Eileen (Joseph R.) Verostic, and Doreen (Daniel) Weiss.
He served his country in the United States Air Force for four years as an airplane mechanic at Andrews Air Force Base in Washington, D.C.
In 1991, he met the love of his life – Marsha Lee – and three years later, they were married and moved to their home in Brookline. Their deep devotion to one another was clear to everyone in their company. Loved ones could count on one hand how many days the two spent apart, and no days were ever spent without hearing him tell his “angel” how much he loved her.
Though not through official means, but in ways more meaningful than any courthouse could issue, Bob adopted Marsha’s children – Rebecca Kolesar, Daniel (Brenda) Stewart, and Timothy Stewart – as his own.
And in 1997, Bob traded in his name for one he truly cherished: Pappap. He was a doting grandfather to six grandchildren: Mackenzie & Gabrielle Stewart; Isabella Olive; Carlee, Daniel, & Drue Stewart.
Robert is survived by – and will be forever missed by – many nieces and nephews and one great-granddaughter, Rose.
No visitation. A Funeral Mass shall be celebrated on Friday, December 20th at 10:30 AM in St. Anne Catholic Church of Saint Paul of the Cross Parish, 400 Hoodridge Dr, Pittsburgh, PA 15234.
