Phyllis Ann (Ogrodowski) Loughry, 74 years old of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Townview Health and Rehabilitation Center after a short battle with cancer. She was a very proud 20+ year survivor of breast cancer. She was born on December 7, 1949 in Washington to the late Genevieve and Francis Ogrodowski. She enjoyed trips with her grandchildren to Erie, Disney, Myrtle Beach and The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Her guilty pleasure growing up was scrapbooking as much as she could on her biggest crush, John F. Kennedy. Phyllis was a very strong-willed lady. Phyllis worked with the mentally challenged after studying at the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She studied nursing and dental hygiene. She was fun loving and the life of the party. Phyllis was married in her life to William C. Loughry (divorced) they had one son William M. Loughry (Jamie). Grandchildren Billy, Destiny, Heather, Austin and Shane. Two Great grandchildren Piper (Heather) and Adrian (Destiny). She is survived by her son William, Sister Tommasina along with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and nephews, Joey, Frank, John, Jason and Lucho. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Genevieve and Rosemarie, her brothers in law Dr Manuel Vallejo and Joseph and her granddaughter Amanda.
A very special and heart filled thank you to the staff of Townview Health and Rehabilitation Center and especially to Gateway Hospice for the exceptional care given to Phyllis.
To honor Phyllis's wishes there will not be a viewing.
