Feb. 16, 1960 - July 23, 2024
Philip Rollin Keller, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. He was the oldest son of the late Rollin and Barbara (Piper) Keller. He is survived by his siblings Calvin Keller (Connie), Paul Keller, Jonathan Keller, Bobby Frederick (Lori), and Donna Stimson (Jim) as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Phil graduated with a BA from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, where he was the editor of the school newspaper. He studied at Fuller Theological Seminary. He spent many years as a dedicated teacher in the Los Angeles County public schools where he worked until he retired to care for his parents until they died. Phil had recently relocated to the Pittsburgh area where he had always wanted to retire.
He was well loved by many of his students and colleagues. He was very vocal in the teacher’s union and was a voice for school reconstruction. Those who knew him well loved his wit, and his kindness which was especially seen in his loving care of his mother and father in their final years.
He also leaves behind his dear friends Guss and Patty. Guss was like a son to him. As well as his beloved dog Talley and his cats Jethro and Abigail. Per Phil’s request, services are private. Arrangements by Ball Funeral Chapel, Inc.
