Patrick James Smith passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, in Pittsburgh. He was 61 years old.
Patrick grew up in Brookline, the son of Joan (McGrath) Smith and the late John C. Smith. Following graduation from Seton-LaSalle Regional High School, he worked for the City of Pittsburgh Housing Authority as a home inspector. He loved sports, heavy metal rock, The Simpsons, animals, and fishing. Patrick was known as the family comedian, who never failed to deliver color commentary on Christmas Eve.
He leaves behind his wife, Valerie (Williams) Smith, and two children, James and Emily. He was the beloved brother of Martin (Judy) Smith, Ellen (Raymond Frances) Smith, Robert (Teresa) Smith, and Kelly (John) Niccoli; and uncle to the late Joseph Smith, Melissa Wilson, Cristina Correnti, Robert Smith, Jr., Katherine Smith, Mara Niccoli, and John Niccoli, Jr. He was also a great-uncle to Janice, Noah, Caleb, and Bennett.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate his life on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 3:00 until the 6:30 pm service at Ball Funeral Chapel, Inc.
