Obituary

Norma (Miller) Figley, 94, transitioned  from this life to be with Jesus her Lord and Savior on Monday August 1st, 2022 while living at the caring and loving community of the Masonic Village in Sewickley.  Norma was born on April 14,1928 in Clinton, Pa living most of her life in Aliquippa Pa.  Her spirit is carried on in her 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild (and one on the way).

Norma was a tenacious  woman who faced whatever life brought her way, inspiring others to do the same.  She lived a simple life, out of the spotlight as far as the world’s standards go, but it was one powerful life of determination and commitment that made an impact on those close to her in a way that cannot be measured.  Her number one passion in life was her family-her sisters, children, and grandchildren.  She spent many years playing golf at Beaver Lakes Country Club and cherished the friendships she made there.  She was a six-time winner of the Club Championship there as well as winning many tournaments held by the Women’s Golf Assoc. of Western Pa.   She taught us all how to sacrifice and love others unconditionally, and to never give up.  She would often be heard whispering amidst the troubles in life,  “Let go, let God”-good advice for us all!

She is survived by her children and grandchildren who she bragged about every chance she got—Sandy Wilson, Terri Matthews (children Megan, Caity, and great-grandson Jack), and Jodi Renner (husband Todd and children Eddie, Adam, and Barrett), as well as her many beloved nieces and nephews.

Norma is reunited with her husband, the love of her life, Bruce Figley, and is preceded by her 5 siblings, Joe Miller, Wilson Miller, Dorothy Hilliker, Bea Jones, and Jane McCormick.

A Celebration of Life Service shall be held Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 11:00am-1:00pm in North Way Christian Community-Sewickley, 200 Deer Run Rd Sewickley Pa 15143
