Madeline “Maddie” Egler (“Butch" or “Butchie” to some from her younger years) passed away from this life in the early hours of April 6, 2022, just a few weeks after her 74th birthday. A wonderful woman, mother, grandmother, wife, daughter and sister, she is survived by a community of family and friends who loved her dearly. She was born on March 15, 1948, the oldest child and daughter of Magdalen and Elmer Moon, and was subsequently blessed with a full house of brothers and sisters, Bruce (Geri) Moon, Rose Lebawski, Debbie (Terry) Driscoll, Michael (Mary) Moon, Scottie (Angie) Moon all of whom had a deep and devoted love for each other. She married Michael Egler on June 20, 1970, and started her own family which would become the focus and purpose of her life thereafter. Michael, along with her son, Jeffrey Michael Egler (Olivia) and daughter, Stefanie Egler (Bryan Betzler), are heartbroken by her loss as are all who were blessed to know her. She was warm and kind, serious and sincere but then her funny could cut like a knife. Madeline was brave and courageous. She was humble, but fierce for her children. A matriarch, she loved to bring her family together. She felt life and loved very deeply, willing to do anything and everything for her loved ones. Her rich and full life cannot be described in a paragraph or even volumes. The love for her and feeling of loss cannot be confined to the page. She will live on as her family holds her memory close to their hearts and in their minds always and as they share those memories and her legacy with her grandchildren, Elliott Grey Egler, Brayden Walter Betzler, Shepard Wiley Egler and Ainsley Madelyn Betzler. She will always be loved and missed “to the moon and back”.
