Leslie Cochran Obituary

On February 23, 2022 Leslie E.Cochran, 72 years old passed away, in Pittsburgh, Pa knowing he was loved by his family and friends. Les was born in 1949 in Wheeling, West Virginia, the middle child of Edward and Velma Cochran. He loved his older brother Ronald and younger sister Karen.

Les fought a battle for many years against diabetes and other ailments and was still active until nearly the end of his life.

He went to South Hills High School and then went on to work for Yellow Cab Company and Pittsburgh Transportation for nearly 40 years. He was very well respected by his coworkers, as well as neighbors and would always lend a helping hand to those who needed a little assistance. Les was a passionate lover of God and a longtime member of Jehovah’s Witnesses serving as a ministerial servant. Those were the factual things in his life.

The essence of Les was often the little things as well. He was a simple man who took pleasure in simple joys. He was a lover of Godzilla movies, old Westerns, Star Trek, Cooks Forest trips, News updates and his garden. If you knew Les well, you knew he could usually be found outside working in the garden, fussing over weeds and doing all kinds of the outdoor projects he planned and loved.

He and his wife Becky would often go to benches in South Park in his last year so they could look at birds. Les loved bird watching and planted certain flowers that would attract them. He was proud of the work ethic he instilled in his family and had a high value of education for whatever job you wanted to do.

Les was married at the time of death to wife Rebecca for 50 years, and was the father of Lauren( deceased), sons Jason (Christine) grandchildren Marvin and  Chelsey and Jordan ( Ashlee) and grandchildren Sienna and Emma.

He lived his life like this quote from Winnie the Pooh.“ Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart”

At His request there will be a private gathering for family and friends at a later time where his life will be celebrated with smiles and fond remembrance.
