Lawrence Gregory Makowski  

March 26, 1943 to June 1, 2025  82 years old 

Lawrence (Larry) was born and raised in Pittsburgh. He died on Sunday June 1, 2025 at his home. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his wife of 52 years Judy Reis Makowski and 3 daughters Sharon (Michael) Sweeney, Lauren Makowski, and Sara (Jamey) Hamilton.  He was a loving grandfather to Jay Johnson, Haylie Koch, Brendan Marryott, Madison and Rees Hamilton and Charlotte Sweeney.  Brother to Thomas (Peggy) Makowski and Dennis (Lyn) Makowski.  Along with nieces and nephews .   He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Helen Makowski. 

Larry and Judy just celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on Monday May 26, 2025.  

Larry was admired and loved by family and friends.  He was the happiest, loving his grandchildren.  He had a love for decorating every holiday.  Also, as a man who would help anyone.  

For the past 16 years he had been working as a bus driver then turned bus aide for Matthew’s Bus Garage where he was loved by so many there.  His name there was GPS because he knew every back road in Pittsburgh and could help drivers get to their destinations on time. 

Friends and family will gather to celebrate his life on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at ball Funeral Chapel, Inc 600 Dunster Street Pittsburgh, PA 15226.
