KONSTANTINA "DINA" PALAIOU

Konstantina "Dina" Palaiou passed away peacefully July 28, 2023, in her home in Pittsburgh with her family by her side.  She was eighty-seven years old and lived a full life following the traditions and culture of the Greek Orthodox Church. 

She was born on the island of Sifnos, Greece and at the age of fourteen she moved to Athens.  The last twenty-three years of her life were divided between Greece and Pittsburgh; she spent summers in Sifnos and winters in Pittsburgh. In 2019, she moved to Pittsburgh permanently to live with two of her children, Maria and George. 

Dina was a dynamic, independent, hard working, classy lady and really loved her grand kids.  She showed people nothing but kindness. She was truly a beautiful woman with a beautiful soul. 

In her younger days, Mrs. Palaiou after having raised her three children and with the support of her late husband, Ioannis Palaios, she used her entrepreneurial spirit to establish and run a small hotel at the seaport of Sifnos, Kamares.  She spent more than three decades remodeling and expanding her seasonal business using financial savviness and relationships to great success. 

Mrs. Palaiou is survived by her three children, George, Maria and Zannis, their spouses, Magdalini, Mark and Barbara, five grandkids, Yianni, Constantino, Peter, Constantina and Zoe, one sister, Voula.   She instilled in her children and grandchildren hard working ethics, a love for Greek customs and traditions and taught them to “always live an honest life.”
