Kathleen “Kathy” Marie (Herron) Barrett

Born January 3, 1958, to the late Robert and Mary (Pasquini) Herron in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Kathy passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday, October 6, 2025.

Kathy was a spirited, unforgettable force — a true spitfire who kept everyone on their toes, filling their lives with laughter and love. She was married to Donald J. Barrett Sr. for many years and was blessed with the lights of her life: Nicole Barrett Lovato, Krista Barrett, and D.J. Barrett (Rachel). Kathy built a family not just by blood, but through love, a beautiful tapestry of souls that cherished her as much as she loved and cherished them. She adored her grandchildren Nico Parise, Alexzander Parise, Emma Tagmyer, Ethan Tagmyer, Julia Blake, Kayla Knudsen (Scott), London Lovato, and great-grandchildren Lincoln Blake, Rylee and Natalia Lovato. Three men were like sons to Kathy whose love and devotion meant the world to her: James Parise, Steven Vogel and Jeffrey Tagmyer.

Kathy had a gift for making everyone feel at home. With an open door and an open heart, she welcomed people from all walks of life without judgment. She raised her children and helped raise her grandchildren with warmth, laughter, and unwavering love, creating a legacy of kindness and acceptance that will be remembered always. Her love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was fierce and enduring. She was also deeply cherished by her sisters, Debbie Zurawsky (Bruce) and Jennifer Herron (Paul), as well as by her many nieces and nephews: Mandie Kalsek(Jay) (Zach and Gavin), Danielle Reber (Kevin) (Jacob and Finley), and Alexandria Pohlot (Josh) (Savannah and another little one on the way).

Kathy’s final months were spent surrounded by the people who loved her most, continuing to make them laugh, cry, and remember the beauty of her vibrant spirit. She will be deeply missed, but her family finds comfort knowing she is at peace, walking in heaven with our Lord and Savior.
