Kathleen Simpson Obituary

Kathleen Simpson, 65, formerly of Mt. Washington, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, surrounded by her family and an abundance of love after a courageous battle with cancer.

Kathie was born to the late Anna and Victor Simpson. She was a devoted Mother, proud Mimi, beloved Sister, Aunt, and companion whose greatest joy in life was her family.

Kathie dedicated 40 years of service to Industrial Appraisal, where she built lasting friendships and earned the respect of those who had the privilege of working alongside her.

Outside of work, Kathie found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time with family, listening to music, thrift shopping, hosting family gatherings, and celebrating holidays—especially Halloween, which was her favorite time of year. She had a remarkable gift for making ordinary moments special and creating traditions that will live on for years to come.

Kathie was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. She loved to cheer on The Steelers & Pens most and quickly enjoyed in sharing that with her grandsons.

More than anything, Kathie cherished her role as Mimi. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Whether creating special traditions, sharing laughter, or simply enjoying time together, she filled their lives with love and memories that will be carried forward for generations.

Kathie is survived by her loving daughter, Erika (Paul) Howard; her cherished grandchildren, Paul Michael Howard and Benny Howard; her sisters, Darleen Simpson, Liza Simpson, Cindy Simpson, Sandy (Raymond) Wehring, and Vicki (Dave) Berry; and her longtime special companion, Ron Payne; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Anna and Victor Simpson, Kathie was preceded in death by cherished family members Jamie and Heather Simpson who welcomed her home into eternal peace.

Kathie will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, strength, compassion, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She had a unique gift for making people feel welcomed, valued, and safe. Her love was freely given, her laughter was contagious, and her presence made every gathering brighter.

Though her family mourns her loss deeply, they find comfort in knowing she is free from pain, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her, and resting in the presence of the Lord.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kathie's life during a memorial gathering on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Center United Presbyterian Church, 110 Washington Avenue, Midway, PA 15060. A memorial service will immediately follow, officiated by Reverend Ben Scott.

Kathie's legacy lives on through the love she shared, the traditions she created, the laughter she inspired, and the family she cherished beyond measure.
