Karen L. Viera, of Washington, PA, passed away peacefully at home on March 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 3, 1950, in Columbia, PA, to Ethel Mae Harshberger and Albert Derr.

Karen was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Minnich, and her grandson, Tripp Halterman. She is survived by her siblings, Barbara Yarnell and Lori Smith; her children, Melissa Byers, Marci Hince, and Fred Poston III; and her cherished grandchildren, Karisty Kelly, Buzz Halterman, Jasmine Byers, Samantha Murphy, Kenneth Murphy IV, Lilliana Poston, and Haley Poston. She also leaves behind several beloved great-grandchildren.

A talented seamstress, Karen found joy in her craft and lived a fulfilling life surrounded by the love of her family. Her warmth, resilience, and devotion to her loved ones will always be remembered.

An intimate gathering will be held to celebrate Karen’s life.
