Judith R. Waring, age 87, of Mt. Lebanon, formerly of Portland, Oregon, passed away August 5, 2024. Judith was born in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of the late Raymond and Elizabeth Griffin Wisgerhof. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, David L. Waring. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Thomas) Massella of Mt. Lebanon, her son Daniel Waring of Portland, Oregon, her brother Paul Wisgerhof of Fairfax, Virginia, grandchildren Lucas Waring and Tegan (Colin Rebey) Waring, beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Judith attended the University of Colorado and later completed her bachelor’s degree in Russian and international relations at the University of Surrey, Guildford, England. She went on to earn a master’s degree in history from John Carroll University and made her career in human relations and placement counseling. Well read and an avid bridge player, Judith lived and traveled all over the United States and the world, making lifelong friends. She will be remembered for her courage, wit and wisdom. The family would like to thank The Pines of Mt. Lebanon and Gateway Hospice for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 3 International Drive, Suite 200, Rye Brook NY 10573. A private celebration of Judith’s life will be held at a later date.
