John E. Stevens, 89, of Monroeville, was delivered by two angels to be with his Lord on Dec. 14, 2024. Jack was born in Pittsburgh on October 19, 1935, as the only child of John Stevens & Ruth Mae (Clair) Stevens. Raised in the Hazelwood neighborhood, he attended Taylor Allderdice Highschool, graduating in 1953. There he met his wife, Roberta Rose (Siegworth) Stevens, wedding her in 1956. The same year, he enlisted in the Army, serving in Germany until 1958. Upon his return, the two welcomed their only daughter, Melanie Ruth (Stevens) Mensch. He was employed as a manager by Bell Atlantic of PA in their audiovisual data department for 34 years before retiring in 1992, eventually moving from Squirrel Hill to Lady Lake, Florida in 1997. There he excelled in retirement, taking up golf, table-tennis, and rekindling the love of motorcycles from his youth. An avid reader of all things, his Bible was well worn, and he enjoyed leading classes at Fairway Christian Church. Finally, in 2016, he and his wife returned to Monroeville to be closer to their three grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife; son-in-law Joel A. Mensch; grandchildren Christine M. Bunner, Joel A. Mensch II, & Charlotte R. B. Mallory; two great-grandchildren, Calvin E. Mallory, & Isaiah A. Bunner. Per his wishes, no service will be held. He asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to his church, Holiday Park Church of Christ, at 1510 Abers Creek Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15239. Arrangements by Ball Funeral Chapel, Inc.; interment at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery
