John McAdoo Obituary

John C. McAdoo, 92, of Bethel Park died peacefully on May 4, 2025. Born on Mt. Washington in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on April 2, 1933. John was the son of Helen(Shafer) and Charles B. McAdoo. John cut his teeth playing ball at Olympia Park. He was a graduate of South Hills High School and served with honor in The U.S. Army being deployed to Korea from 1949-1951. After returning from the service, John became a proud and dedicated employee at Mellon Bank working for forty years and retiring in 2002 as a vice president in the trust department. John raised his family in Baldwin Township where he served as a commissioner and king of the Armstrong Park tennis courts. John loved telling good (embellished) stories, playing golf and tennis at South Park, spending winters in Ft. Myers, Florida, golfing at Lone Pine Country Club, and most especially, he enjoyed any competitive game with his love and wife Judy (Corcoran) on his team. He was a boastful Pirates and Steelers fan and a loving father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his daughter Susan and his first wife Mary Eleanor (Crossman) McAdoo. John is survived by his children David (Shuwei), John (Trish) and Julie Renner (Alan) and his grandchildren, Megan McAdoo (Steven) and Shannon McAdoo and Brodie and Mac Renner. Family and friends are warmly invited to a celebration of life service at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2040 Washington Road Upper St Clair on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 10:00 AM. Followed by a reception in the church social hall. A private interment will be held at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Memorial gifts can be made to Bethel Park Library.
