John Thomas Kennedy

John Thomas Kennedy (77) of Mt Washington passed away on November 20, 2024, in UPMC Mercy Hospital. The youngest child of the late Joseph Kennedy and Stella (Kane) Kennedy, he was preceded in death by his partner Peggy McAfee, his first wife Carol (Dankanes) Kennedy, his sisters Mary Ellen (Kennedy) Collins and Nancy (Kennedy) Regal, and his stepdaughter Lisa (McAfee) Coufman. 

He was a graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School. John worked for Heinz as a forklift operator in the soup division until retirement. He was a true Pittsburgher from where he worked to his love for catching up with friends at Eat-N-Park. John enjoyed shooting pool with friends to spending time on his computer with fantasy football. He had a wonderful sense of humor and frequently made those around him laugh. 

He is survived by sister Kathleen (Kennedy) Marx, stepdaughter Laurie (McAfee) Braum (David), five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren, six nieces and nephews, ten great nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew.

He will be greatly missed. Friends and family shall be received to celebrate his life on Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 11am until the 1pm blessing service at Ball Funeral Chapel, Inc., 600 Dunster St., Pittsburgh, PA 15226. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
