James R. Schwadron “Pops” 90 years old passed away December 10th, 2024 at home. Born February 4, 1934 in Pittsburgh to Edward W. and Mary Katherine Schwadron. Jim graduated from Baldwin High School, and served in the Army, stationed in Germany. He returned and married Rexanne Schneider. They made their home and raised their children in Mars, Pa. For 30 years, Jim worked as body shop manager for Sampson Buick in Pittsburgh. He later drove a big rig for Compass Transportation, and school bus for Mars Area School District.
Pops was an avid fisherman and a total gear head. He was recently inducted into the Pittsburgh International Dragway Hall of Fame and proudly displayed his award in his home. He enjoyed collecting guns, trains, and fishing rods. He spent hours fishing from his dock at Lake Stonycreek and tinkering in his garage.
Left to remember how wonderful he was are his children Tim and Karla Schwadron, Corry Schwadron, and Nikki and Mike Finan. He was adored by his grandkids Kim Schwadron, Ed and Kayla Schwadron, Kerry and Chris Ryan, Hank Finan, and Gabby Finan. He loved visits with great grandchildren Ellie and Charlie Ryan. He was a caring big brother to his sister Linda Greaves with whom he shared his home. Everyone’s favorite Uncle will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his wife, parents, and sister, Carole Klein. There were no services for Jim. His family celebrated him privately. He was loved and respected by everyone he knew.
