JAMES D. BOND
James D. Bond, 72, passed away peacefully, on June 9, 2025, from colon cancer in his Pittsburgh home, with family by his side. James was born in Pittsburgh on August 16,1952 to the late James and Agnes Bond of Carnegie.
A devoted husband, father and grandfather.
James is survived by his wife, Margaret Martin Bond, two children - Adam and Jamie, and his three grandchildren - James (JJ) Healey, Jesse Healey, and Josie Healey. He is also survived by David Bond, his brother and Susan Bond Vukson, his sister.
After graduating from Bishop Canevin High School in 1970 James went to Drexel and West Virginia Colleges and studied Forestry. After college, on July 6, 1976 James started working at Chartiers Country Club as a grounds keeper and worked his way up to Asst. Superintendent of Grounds. He retired from Chartiers Country Club December 7, 2018.
Some of James’ favorite pastimes was playing golf with his brother and friends, going to Pens games, playing video games, and coin and card collecting. After retiring, James spent time in the gardening and watching ALL sports on TV. Including all of the Tour de France.
Per James request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE WILL BE HELD AT A LATER DATE.
