Ivory N. (Coker) White

   Mrs. Ivory White was called to the Lord on August 7, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents Burley and Gertrude Coker, husband's Charles Coleman and Wesley White, son Glen , 2 grandchildren, 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Mrs. Ivory moved to Pittsburgh PA in 1944 from Hartsville SC. She attended school in the Hill District, which included Fifth Ave High School and Connelly Technical Institute. 

   Known to many as Mrs. Ivory she loved cowboy movies and collecting dolls. She loved spending time with family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often times teasing by saying their names incorrectly with a laugh. She also loved to eat!

   Mrs. Ivory spent her career in nursing, caring for others. She worked at various nursing homes and as an in-home nurse. Mrs. Ivory also studied welding, architecture and drafting. 

   Mrs. Ivory White is survived by her sister Shermel Burke, children - daughter’s Victoria Bradley (George), Katherine Smith (Dwayne), Tina Guyton (William) and Carmella Coleman-Miller, son's Charles Coleman and Gregory Coleman (Terrell). She is also survived by 17 wonderful grandchildren and 35 precious great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews and many others, those of which called her Mom, Mom Ivory and Grandma.

   Mrs. Ivory lived her life on her terms. She was the total description of "small but mighty". She stood her ground and sometimes got in trouble for it but never backed down. She was feisty and quick to say what was on her mind. She lived! It may not have always been how others wanted, it was how she wanted. A part of her will live on with us. Mrs. Ivory White, Mom, grandma, great-grandchildren will truly be missed.

Friends and family shall gather to celebrate her LIFE on Monday, August 12, 2024 from 11am until the 1pm Memorial Service at Ball Funeral Chapel, Inc., 600 Dunster Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15226
