Ivonne Lewis Miller

Ivonne Lewis Miller passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was 89 years old.

Ivonne is survived by her husband, Jim, with whom she shared 67 years of marriage; their three children, Jay (Holly), Jimmy (Chase), and Chris (Jenny); six grandchildren—Duncan, Haley, Hunter (Ryan Legg), Aaron (Courtney), Isaiah, and Max—and two great‑grandchildren, Emerie and Adri Legg.

Born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, Ivonne moved to Sewickley after World War II. Many knew her affectionately as “Meems.” She was joyful, full of life, and cherished time spent visiting family in Puerto Rico and summers at Ahmic Lake in Ontario, Canada with her children and grandchildren and many long-time friends on the lake.

Ivonne graduated from Sewickley Academy and continued her education at Stuart Hall School in Staunton, Virginia. She graduated from Garland Junior College in Boston in 1956. After returning to Sewickley, she became the assistant athletic director for a few years at Sewickley Academy.

Ivonne married James P. Miller on September 26, 1959, and devoted herself to raising their three boys. She later returned to Sewickley Academy as a volunteer in the school library, where she served for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great‑grandmother, and she will be deeply missed.

Ivonne will be laid to rest beside her mother, Tomasita Lewis, in Sewickley Cemetery.  A private family memorial will be held at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church.
