Gail Bova Lang age 89, of Brookline Pgh Pa on Tuesday Nov 4th 2025 after many illnesses peacefully passed away with family at her side. Gail attended St. Michaels Grade School and High School on the South Side where she met the love of her life and future husband Edward (Butch) Lang in the 6th Grade. After graduation she flew to Ft. Jackson, South Carolina In September 1955 to marry Ed on the military base. Gail and Ed raised a family of five children. Gail worked and retired from Our Lady of Loreto Parish in Brookline dedicating 27 years of service. Gail and Ed's home was always open to anyone; Sunday dinners were a given with a large pot of meatballs and sauce always on the stove. Gail was an avid cook and seamstress a true homemaker at heart, she always had a kind word, forgiving spirit and compassion for all. Gail was preceded in death by her husband Ed who passed June 19, 2022, her parents Peter and Ellen Bova, her sister Barbara Menzel (Ron), her brother Peter Bova (Mary) and her son Joseph M. Lang (Irene). Gail is survived by her youngest brother Marc Bova (MaryLou) and four children; Diane Johns (Kenneth), Debbie Lang (Bill Alexander), Barbara Sladic (Gerry), Peter Lang (Jill). The Lang Family was a big one consisting of their five children, 13 Grandchildren and 24 great- grandchildren not forgetting all of the neighborhood kids who she loved and cherished and treated as her own, those times were often fondly remembered by Gail and Ed.
Thank you to all who loved her and reached out over the years to offer a kind word following our father's passing; the heartfelt gestures were deeply appreciated and will not be forgotten.
Mother, you left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide, although we cannot see you, we feel you always at our side.
Arrangements handled by Ball Funeral Chapel, Inc. in Brookline. Burial will be private at a later time, National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
There will be a short viewing for family only.
