Elizabeth Ann Ratica

Elizabeth Ann Ratica, affectionately known by many as Beth Ann, passed away in her sleep early in the morning on April 25, 2026.  

Beth Ann was born on January 11, 1942, as the cherished daughter of Emma and George Ratica.

Beth Ann was preceded in death by her beloved sister Georgia Cook, her brother Ted Ratica (survived by his wife Linda), her cherished niece Linda Cook, and her dear nephew Don Cook (survived by his wife Susan). 

She is survived by her devoted niece, Lisa Marie Cook, her brother Greg Ratica (Loretta), and a host of other dear nieces and nephews: Jean (Tony), Kyle (Meredith), and Kennedy Rose (the late Dillon) McCullough, Greg Ratica and his daughter Kaitlyn, Jeff (Adrianna) and their daughters Emma and Ella, and Adam (Michelle) Ratica and their daughter Sarah. 

Beth Ann also leaves behind a loving extended family and countless friends who will deeply mourn her passing.

Throughout her adult life, Beth Ann worked as a secretary at Pittsburgh Testing Labs, and after retiring from there, continued working part-time as a cashier at the Station Square parking garage. 

From a young age, she was drawn to the teachings of the Bible. She and her sister would read scriptures posted in the window of the Kingdom Hall in Aliquippa.  As a girl, she would listen in on her mother’s Bible studies. Although her mother never became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Beth Ann continued to pursue Bible truth and attended meetings in the East Pittsburgh congregation despite her father’s opposition.   

Later, Beth Ann’s faith led her to be baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on April 19, 1968. 

Her presence was a source of joy in the congregations she attended, including East Pittsburgh, Beechview, Dormont, and South Hills. 

Beth Ann’s sweet smile and gentle nature touched the hearts of many.  She was passionate about sharing her hope of life everlasting on a Paradise earth, a message she conveyed with conviction until her very last days. Her faith left a profound impression on hospice workers, who were deeply moved by her optimism and belief in the future. 

Her life was filled with love, resilience, and unwavering faith. Beth Ann’s warm smile, and kind words will be cherished and missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her fine example of love of faith will continue to inspire and uplift those she left behind.  

A Memorial Service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 3:00 pm.
