Edward Joseph “Fast Eddie” Suckell, age 73, of Elizabeth, PA, passed away on Friday July 18, 2025 of respiratory failure. Born July 29, 1951, he was the son of the late Edward Anthony Suckell and the late Anna May (Zaken) Janicki and is preceded in death by his sister, Debra Neander, and his brother Scott Suckell. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly (Robert) Schoembs, and his granddaughters, Deborah, Adele, and Josephine, all of of Dunbarton, NH; his brother, Vincent (Fawn) Suckell, of South Daytona Beach, FL; and his niece, April Rahner, and her son, Billy, of Coraopolis, PA. A 1969 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School, Eddie worked at Irvin Works and later as a bartender. As a young man he also worked at a bakery where he saved up money for his first car and pool table. For many years, Eddie was the pitcher for the Shamrock Sippers softball team, where he earned his nickname “Fast Eddie” and made many memories with best friend Jim McNeil and others. A gifted pool player, Eddie was a fifth place prize winner in the 1988 Pool League National Singles Tournament in Orlando, Florida and was well known in the Mon Valley for his many victories in the Mon Valley 8-Ball League. Eddie enjoyed watching TV (especially anything with a ball or a horse) but his greatest joy was watching his granddaughters grow. The family is grateful to the Elizabeth Boro community members who showed him kindness day to day. Eddie is being cremated and a memorial service will be hosted by his daughter in the coming months.
