Douglas "Doug" Allen Slavin

Douglas “Doug” Slavin, age 45, of New Kensington, PA passed away on September 25, 2023 after a prolonged battle with type 2 diabetes.People like Doug are hard to find and impossible to forget.  Doug was a man of humble beginnings which he stated helped shape him into the man he became. Doug had a wonderful sense of humor. He was always quick with a zinger.  Doug loved the music stylings of “Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’ and ‘Tupac Shakur.’ There wasn't a Pittsburgh sporting event that he missed, some may say he bled black and gold. Doug enjoyed spending his time with family and friends. Doug was always happiest at home. A self-professed foodie, Doug’s cook outs are legendary and will be missed. 

Doug was preceded in Death by his parents William and Sandra Slavin of New Kensington his brother William Slavin also of New Kensington, PA, as well as mother-in-law who he shared a great relationship with Shirley Jump of Ohio. Doug is survived by his Daughter Jazmine Slavin of Natrona Heights, his Goddaughter Amore Wisnick, his life partner Angela Young of Natrona Heights and his siblings Brenda Kilgore, Autum (Robert Rohland) Scott, Andrew (Heather) Slavin and many nieces and nephews who he loved more than words can convey. Doug would also want to ensure that Melissa McCrory and David Wise, who he held in the highest regards were acknowledged for the role they played in his life. 

A celebration of life including a repass will be held on October 7, 2023, from 1p-3p at The River Church located at 200 Freeport Road New Kensington, PA 15068. Doug’s daughter Jazmine along with his family and friends encourage those wanting to pay their respects to attend. If you have any photos from Doug’s life, we ask that you bring a copy of them along with any anecdotes to share with Jazmine for the creation of a celebration of life memorial book. Doug loved the color blue Jazmine asks that those attending the memorial make it a blue-out. Known to his friends and family as Douggy Fresh or DaBonecrusher, Doug would not want us to grieve, he is finally free.
