Donna Jean Edwards

Born August 23, 1956 in Pittsburgh, PA.  Passed May 16, 2025 at home in Pittsburgh PA.

Mid-year she was informed she had Pancreatic Cancer. lt was a hard-fought battle with many ups, downs, twists. She was informed the day before thanksgiving she had two weeks to two months to live. We set up at-home care and she fought harder and surpassed that by a couple months all while remaining alert and fully mobile until the end. Now she has gained her wings, and free of pain, and can rest.

Donna attended Taylor Alldedrice High School. Worked and retired from The Western Pennsylvania School for the Blind. Enjoyed going to jazz festivals, avid Bingo player, and she loved her Classic movies Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and White Christmas. Along the way she made many great friends and memories.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy Mae and William Lindsey Edwards; brother Dorian Wilson Edwards; and Niece L’Tanya Lynn Kent. Donna is survived by her Children Damica Edwards, Dominic Edwards, and Demetric Edwards; grandchildren Doryan J. Edwards, Donovan Edwards, and Derrick Edwards; siblings Dorothea Garrett, Linda Kent, and Devin Edwards; she also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, aunt, cousins, and friends.

Friends and family shall be welcomed to celebrate her life on Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 11am until the noon funeral service at Ball Funeral Chapel, Inc.,
