Donald A. “Don” Britcher (Upper St. Clair) passed away from pancreatic cancer on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. Born July 12, 1947 he grew up in Forest Hills, PA. Don was the beloved husband of Phyllis J. Britcher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothy Britcher, and his brother, James. He is survived by his treasured children, Craig and Kelly Britcher, his stepdaughters Valerie (Andy) and Pia (Raul) Ferraro and his sister Barb McGee. Much beloved, he was “Papa Don” to his grandchildren (Anthony, Joe, Louisa and Colette) and “UD” to his nieces and nephew.
Don worked at Gordon Terminal Service Company for many years. His multitude of hobbies included being a DJ and building a massive train layout. He loved nothing more than a house and yard full of family and friends. Donnieworld was a fun and welcoming place, home to many of his building projects and games. He was a sports enthusiast and an avid golfer.
His legacy of love and humor will live on in all of us forever.
Due to the restrictions of COVID-19, there will be no public funeral services at this time; however, a celebration of Don’s life will hopefully be held next summer with the hopeful receding of the pandemic.
