DONALD C. BAYERLEIN

Age 85, of the South Side, passed peacefully on Friday, April 22, 2022. Loving husband of the late Charlotte (Bakalarski) Bayerlein; beloved son of the late George and Florence (Jenkins) Bayerlein; loving father of John "Jack" (Jennifer) and Donald “Soupy” (Joanie) Bayerlein, Barbara Hilarzewski (Dan); brother of the late George, Florence, John and Billy Bayerlein; adoring grandfather of John, Michael, Melissa, Ryan, Chris, Thomas, Helena and Lita; doting great-grandfather of Amara, Heith, Dean, Oliver, Bennett, Genevieve (Weevie), Maxwell (Bang-Bang), Amelia, Mila and John;  a special godfather to Samantha; treasured uncle, cousin and friend of many. Don retired as head cook for Wightman Center in Squirrel Hill at age 70. His true passion was his gardening his flower beds were even featured in local papers. Friends and family will be received Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 4-8pm at Ball Funeral Chapel, Inc., 600 Dunster St., Pittsburgh, PA. 15226. A Mass of Christian Burial shall be celebrated Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Albert the Great Church of Blessed Trinity Parish, 3198 Schieck St., Pittsburgh, PA. 15227.
