Diane Marie (Cowley) Young

Diane Marie (Cowley) Young peacefully passed away from natural causes at her home in Upper St. Clair, PA on November 22nd, 2024. 

Diane was born on March 9th, 1939 in Buffalo, New York, where she lived for many years. She graduated from Riverside High School where she participated in their chorus and began her passion for singing.

She eventually found a life in western Pennsylvania, mostly residing in the Pittsburgh area. Here, Diane worked as a paralegal for some time before taking over a bridge engineering company, which she led as a successful WBE firm.

Diane would later retire to Lake Latonka in northern PA, where she would garden and mingle about the community. She loved to feed the birds and play card games with friends, watch classics on TV and cook just about anything. Diane was a social butterfly, animal lover, and devout Christian. She'll be remembered for her intelligence, empathy, and charisma.

Diane is survived by her son, Ted Teetsel; grandsons Nick and Jake Teetsel; grandsons Brandon, Cameron, and Ryan Furniss; grandchildren Melissa, Chelsea, and Braden Flynn; extended family, and close friends. She is predeceased by her parents, brother, and daughters Christy (Young) Furniss and Lynn (Teetsel) Flynn; as well as late husbands Richard Teetsel and Larry Young, and life-partner John Bott.

Friends and family with be received at Ball Funeral Chapel on Sunday December 1, 2024 from 1:00PM until the funeral service at 4:00 PM.
