DENNIS “DUTCH” MEYER
Age 76, formerly of Brookline, PA, on Friday October 25, 2024. Veteran of the US Navy and the PA Air National Guard. Served on the USS Kitty Hawk in the Vietnam War, 1968.
Dennis was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, he owned Denny’s Sport Shop on Brookline Boulevard in the 1980’s. He was known for his lush gardens and had too many plants to count. Dennis was a jack of all trades who could fix anything he came across. He was an airplane and automobile mechanic, even owned his own repair shop in the 1970’s. He sold advertising for Pennsylvania Woods and Waters and was an over the road truck driver. He retired from his favorite job and calling as the Director of Partners in Parks where he got to get his hands dirty and make the City of Pittsburgh Parks beautiful!
Father of Heather (Joe) Eveges; beloved O’Pa of Joey, Stephen and James; Brother of Ronnie Buczko and Rene Cressy. Dennis was preceded in death by his sister Barbara (Nello) Coccagno.
Dennis will be cremated and interred at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a further date handled by the Ball Funeral Chapel.
