Age 62, of Bethel Park, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 10, 2020. Dave was born December 31, 1957. He grew up in the Knoxville neighborhood of Pittsburgh. He is survived by his loving wife, Tracy (Smith) of 26 years; son, David; son, Christian; two fur babies, Sami and Bailee. He is also survived by his sisters, Susan D'Amico Leon, Janet (Stevie) Turner (Rich), Mikki Macie (Bob), Mary Arnold (Mark); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Dorothy (Trageser) Stiefvater. Dave was employed by Giant Eagle for 46 years and loved his Giant Eagle family and customers. He will always be remembered for his selfless devotion as a husband, father and brother. He was caring, fun loving, and his sense of humor will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date. There will be a memorial gathering at the gazebo in South Park on Saturday, December 19, 2020, beginning at 1 p.m. One of Dave's oldest friends, John Sobocinski, will be honoring his memory by saying a few words. The microphone will then be open to anyone who wishes to speak immediately following. Social distancing will be observed and everyone is asked to wear a mask.
