D J QUIRIN – BELOVED HUSBAND AND FATHER
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of DJ Quirin, a devoted husband, loving father and cherished friend. He passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication and quiet strength that touched the lives of all who knew him.
DJ was born on November 18, 1937 in Pittsburgh, to the late Frank H and Anna Capie Quirin. He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Margot Achtzehn Quirin, and his daughters Jennifer (Eric) Trelewicz and Laura (Michael) Uber, grandchildren Maranda (Taylor) Kane, Martha (Lucas) Farenbaugh, and Daniel Moser, and great-grandchildren, Helen and Joseph Farenbaugh. He will be missed by many friends and members of the community whose lives he touched.
DJ worked for many years as an Aviation Fuel Quality Control Field Engineer for Gulf Oil Corp before he started his own business, Valley Instrument Company. In his early 50s he decided to enter the ministry and spent nearly 20 years as pastor of Highland Grove UM Church and Green Valley UM Church.
A memorial service to celebrate DJ’s life will be held on Sunday, June 28th at 2:00 at First Baptist Church of Pittsburgh, Bellefield Avenue, Pittsburgh 15213 (Oakland).
