Carl Tipton Obituary

Carl Peter Tipton was born on December 18, 1972, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and raised in Crestas Terrace, North Versailles.  He departed this life on June 14, 2025, at Excela Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers Ella Mae Wilson and Erma E. Scott. Also, his grandfather’s Wilmer Tipton and Bill Wilson and his uncle William Albert Taylor (aka Petey).

He is survived by his parents, Wilmer C. Tipton and Jacqueline Yvette Tipton of Irwin, Pennsylvania. And his sister Rosalyn Estelle Tipton of Greensburg, Pennsylvania. His uncles, Gary W. Tipton, Sr (wife Vanessa) of King George, Virginia and Alexander Tipton (wife Jan) of Duquesne, Pennsylvania.  His aunts Bernice Marshall of Detroit, Michigan and Connie Thaxton-Smith of Liberty Borough, Pennsylvania. 

Carl leaves to mourn, their loss, a host of cousins, and other relatives by whom he was affectionally referred to him as “Lil’Man”.  There are also many friends, as well as loving and devoted colleagues who will be left with fond memories.  

Carl graduated from East Allegheny High School in North Versailles, Pennsylvania in 1991. He performed as the principal bassist for the East Allegheny High School Symphony Orchestra.

SPIRITUAL ACTIVITY

On August 18, 1984, Carl was baptized symbolizing his dedication as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  He had served in the past as a ministerial servant and auxiliary pioneer.  He also helped in the building and renovation of many Kingdom Halls and Assembly Halls.

SECULAR ACTIVITY

Carl was a respected member of the Carpenter’s Union Local No. 432.  He was employed with Rycon Construction as a carpenter from 1991-1994. In 1994 He was employed by Massaro Construction as a Carpenter/Foreman during which time he was promoted to superintendent until 2015. In 2015, he returned to Rycon where he continued to serve as an effective Superintendent until his death in 2025.  He was privileged to participate in several notable building projects in the Pittsburgh Tri-State area. In 2021, he received the Master Builder Association’s Safety Champion Award.

COMMENTS

Carl was known for his kind, warm, loving and respectful nature.  His infectious smile and laugh will be missed by so many.

APPRECIATION

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support they have received from so many that loved Carl.

SERVICES

Memorial and Repass will be held at Trafford Borough Community Center, 414 Brinton Avenue Trafford, PA 15085 on July 5, 2025, at 3pm.
