Blufus Evans, 86, of Pittsburgh, PA passed away on July 24th, 2021. Blufus was born on March 31st,1935 in Hogansville, GA to parents Annie Gates and Eddie Roy Character. He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Juanita Evans. He leaves behind to mourn, his siblings, Cordelia Brown (GA), Oliver Character (Daisy) (GA), Phillip Character (SC), and Theresa Character (Canada). He also leaves his children, Carol Warren, Rickey Warren (Sara), Daniel Robinson JR., Rilynn Simpson, Marsjha Glenn-Evans and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Blufus was a Navy Veteran who traveled the world as a Navy Chef. Upon leaving the military, he worked for 30 years at Pittsburgh Snax & Nut Co. as a delivery driver. Being known for his delivery of peanuts all over Pittsburgh, he garnered the nickname “Mr. Peanut”. After retiring, he made it a point to stay active. He found great enjoyment in jitneying and hanging with “The Guys” outside of the Southside Giant Eagle.
