Bernadetta Laraia

Bernadette Laraia passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025 at home in Cranberry Township after a long battle with Ovarian Cancer. She is survived by her husband Donald Olsavicky , her sons Andrew and Zachary Olsavicky as well as her step daughter Anya Olsavicky, her brother Kelly Laraia and his wife Mary Ellen, her brother Tim Laraia and his wife Barbara, her brother Vince and his wife Kelly as well as nieces Helen, Kathryn and Alyce and her nephew Garrett. Bernadette was born on February 13, 1950 in Albany, New York to Joseph and Rita Laraia. She is a graduate of Iowa State University and worked in numerous positions in retail and banking before marrying and starting a family. She volunteered for many years in the New York State PTA association and was a strong advocate for people on the autism spectrum. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her contagious smile and her fierce advocacy for women’s equality and everyone’s equal rights.

As she insisted, there will be no memorial service and preferred to have a very small private celebration of her life with her immediate family.
