Basil Maimone Obituary

Basil Wesley Maimone age 61 of Carnegie Pa. Born to Basil and Loretta Jean Maimone on April 8, 1961. With great sorrow, Basil departed this world to go home to the Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday Feb. 21, 2023. He was preceded in death by his loving mother Loretta Jean Maimone. He is survived by his father Basil Maimone, sister Jeanne Lynne, brother Bob, sister in law Sharon. His son Nathan Cook. Daughters Ashley and Hailey. Son Cody Maimone. Grandchildren, nieces ,nephews, Debra Maimone, Robert, Flip ,Vera and cousins. Survived by his former wife Brooke Maimone. Also his former girlfriend and soulmate for two decades, Melissa Savannah. And his very close, dear and spiritual girlfriend Dr. Janine Lex. His close friends Heidi & Dan Bieber.

Basil graduated from Carlynton High School then attended Waynesburg College for his Bachelor’s Degree from there went to Duquesne University receiving a Master’s Degree in Psychology ,he was two months away from his doctorate degree when he passed. After college pursued a career as a Child Psychologist/Therapist worked at Comprehensive Children and Family Services for years until his death. He was a very compassionate man that loved the children he counseled, taking them fishing and to outdoor events. Basil was an avid hunter and fisherman , a poet and played guitar. His father taught him how to hunt, fish and trap. Basil loved his little sister, sharing a special bond, he will always be in her heart forever big brother. The whole family shared a love for all animals growing up together. Basil loved his dog Dewey, he walked him daily at Moraine State Park, which was his favorite place to visit and fish. He spent many holidays with Bob and family. Brother Bob was his best friend for life, hunting and fishing till the end. He will be sorely missed. Basil had a bad car accident in March 2022 after that ,he bravely battled Glioblastoma, brain cancer. Loving brother Bob and Sharon cared for him through the whole thing. We all love and miss you Basil, until we meet again in Paradise with Jesus Christ. Absent from the body present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8) In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
