Albert Haas, a lifelong presence in Castle Shannon, passed away peacefully after a battle with lung cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Julia (MacPherson) Haas, his sister, Mildred (Haas) Stefko and his brothers, George Haas and William "Bill" Haas.
Albert was a dedicated mechanic who worked for many years out of the garage near his home alongside his beloved wife, Patti (DelSole) Haas, who preceded him in death two years ago after her own battle with lung cancer. Together, they built not just a business, but a reputation in the community for honesty, fairness, and quiet generosity.
He was a daily fixture at the Trolley Barn where he could be found most mornings enjoying breakfast, strong coffee, and familiar company. It was part of his routine, and part of what made him such a staple in the town he loved.
Albert was a devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his sister, Amy (Haas) Bender, and his children: Lacey (Brandon Graham) Haas; Ryan (Katie) Haas; Mark (Leigh) Huckabee; Amber (Brett) Boff; He was a proud grandfather to, Shaylynn Kennelly, Camden Boff, Liam Haas, Douglas George, Alexa Huckabee, Luke Huckabee, Jameson Haas and Amelia Haas, and many many nieces and nephews.
Albert showed his love through actions fixing what was broken, helping when it mattered most, and standing steady for the people he cared about. His absence leaves a quiet space in the garage, at the breakfast counter, and in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held at the Castle Shannon Firehall on Sunday, March 8, 2026 from 4pm-8pm.
