Alan Highfield Obituary

ALAN L. HIGHFIELD

Age 76, passed peacefully at his home surrounded by family, following many years of decline from heart disease.

He was born on August 23, 1945, to Russell and Helen (Hysong) Highfield in Pittsburgh.

Alan attended Connelley Vocational High School and proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during Viet Nam as a Torpedoman on the U.S.S. Sierra.

He married Peggy Kinley on July 15, 1967, and they had three children, Jennifer Highfield, Melody (Highfield) McKenna and Kirk Highfield.

He worked as a welder for nearly 40 years and retired from Universal Stainless & Alloy Products in Bridgeville, PA.

He loved gardening, home repairs, relaxing at camp, watching westerns, and spending quality time with his family.

Alan is survived by Peggy, Jennifer, Melody (Raymond) Mckenna and Kirk (Marci Toth); precious grandchildren Gavin, Kelsi, Rose, Ashley and the late Alan John “AJ”; dear brothers Joseph and Philip Highfield of Arizona.

Per Alan’s request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Rennerdale Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jody Flack officiating.

Internment will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
