MARY CATHERINE ROCK
A lifelong resident of Pittsburgh, passed away October 6, 2016, at Jefferson Hospital after a short but intense battle with cancer. Mary was born March 4, 1950. She was one of 11 brothers and sisters, loved the Steelers and Penguins and enjoyed camping with her husband and getting together with her family. She spent her life in banking, most recently with PNC Bank. To her friends and family she had many titles: daughter, sister, wife, mother, and to many... saint. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Robert Rock; three sons, John, Michael (wife Yvette), Daniel (wife Staci), brothers Ray Preffer, Rich Preffer, Paul Preffer and Bobby Preffer; and sisters, Joni Froescthel, Kathy Miller, and Sheila Gault, Patti Preffer Luben. Along with a host of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and her three godchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her father and mother, John and Marcie Preffer; sister, Shirley Smith; and brother, Bobby Driscoll. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Norbert's Church Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements by BALL FUNERAL CHAPEL, INC.
