Devoted wife of 64 years to Edward J., lost her courageous battle with Altzheimer's on October 8, 2013. Sister-in-law of Elizabeth Szkola (late Isper); sister of the late Titus, Jenny, Dorothy, Idzi, Veronica, and Mary; cherished aunt of June Skelly, Chester Pawlowski (Pat), Bruce Pawlowski (Eileen), Veronica Johnson, Greg Pawlowski, Judie Ball (Howard), Trudy Martch, John W. Szkola, Linda Socie (Doug), Debbie Madden (Bill), John M. Szkola, Susan Tranquilli, Raymond Szkola (Linda), Jimmy Szkola; great-aunt of 15; great- great-aunt of 14. Gert retired from US Steel Corporation, and volunteered at the Risen Lord Parish Fish Fry, St. Leo's Carnival and Bingo, Pittsburgh Blood Bank, Meals on Wheels, and many more. Gert loved life and her family and she will be sadly missed by all of us, including her kitty, "Cookie."
